Olympic champion, Jasmine Camacho-Quinn beat Oluwatobiloba Amusan to first position in the 100m hurdles at the Diamond League in Lausanne.

Camacho-Quinn won the race with a time of 12.34s, while Amusan came second in 12.45s.

America’s Tia Jones finished third with a time of 12.47s.

Amusan has been in scintillating form in recent times.

The 25-year-old won gold medal at the 2022 World Athletics Championships setting a new world record of 12.12 seconds in the semifinal, followed up by a wind-assisted 12.06 seconds in the final.

She also won gold medal in the same event at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.

Victor Osimhen's agent, Robert Calenda has denied reports that his client could join Manchester United this summer.

Reports emerged in Italy on Friday that Osimhen is a being considered in a swap deal with Manchester United involving Cristiano Ronaldo plus cash.

Ronaldo’s agent, Jorge Mendes is reportedly working on a deal that will bring Osimhen to Manchester United and his star client to Napoli on loan.

Napoli, according to the report are also demanding €120 to sell their star striker.

Calenda has however debunked the report circulating around and stated that there are no ongoing negotiations with Manchester United.

“No ongoing negotiations, no swap deals,” Calenda wrote on Twitter handle.

“Osimhen is a Napoli player and wants to play in the Champions League with his Napoli side after conquering it on the pitch with pride along with his teammates and the coach.”

The 23-year-old has scored 30 goals in 64 appearances for the Partenopei, including the two goals he has scored this season.


Nigeria’s D’Tigers got their campaign in the second round of the 2023 FIBA World Cup qualifiers off to a poor start after losing 78 – 66 to Côte d’Ivoire in Group E on Friday.

D’Tigers failed to win any of the four quarters throughout the tough encounter.

After a 14 – 14 points score in the first quarter, Côte d’Ivoire took the second quarter 28 points to D’Tigers’ 22.

The Ivorians also took the third quarter 18 – 16 before rounding it the game off with 18 – 14 point win in the fourth quarter.

The Nigerian team will hope to bounce back from the defeat to Côte d’Ivoire when they will face Guinea later today (Saturday).

Meanwhile, the group’s other results saw Cape Verde beat Guinea 65 – 48 and Angola overcame Uganda 84 – 62.

The qualifiers will determine the five African teams that will participate at the 2023 FIBA World Cup.
